Experience Magic

If you've never experienced a farm-to-plate dinner, the five-course meals at Topaz Farm are one of the Pacific Northwest's best.

It all starts as you cross Wapato Bridge onto Sauvie Island. Twenty minutes from downtown Portland, you'll feel as though you're a hundred miles away. Once on the farm, you're surrounded by fields of fruits, vegetables, flowers, and animals. The farm's commitment to fully regenerative practices, beginning with nurturing the land, is evident in the incredible flavor of the food.

It doesn’t get much fresher than eating a meal in the very place where the ingredients were grown. Topaz Farm’s resident “farm-to-plate” chefs and culinary power couple Christian and Janelle Ephrem will craft a series of five-course meals sourced from Topaz itself, with menus designed mere days in advance and produce harvested just hours before the dinner.

Additional July through September Farm to Plate experiences will be announced soon.

Husband-and-wife chefs, Christian and Janelle Ephrem, have been the farm’s resident chefs since we opened in 2020. Christian was born and raised in Ethiopia and eventually moved to Las Vegas, where he worked in world-class kitchens such as the two-star Michelin restaurant Guy Savoy. His passion, creativity, attention to detail, and unparalleled drive led him to work closer to his food source, bringing him and Janelle to Oregon.

Janelle, a Portland native, also found herself in Las Vegas, where she served as pastry chef at four different Wolfgang Puck restaurants, including the company's flagship, Spago. Her kitchen expertise is widespread, ranging from plated desserts to cakes, breads, chocolates, and viennoiserie. Together, Janelle and Christian create some of the best dinners in the PNW.

Dine under the shade of a majestic 500-year-old oak tree and enjoy a five-course culinary experience at our long community tables. It's the perfect spot for special occasions or simply gathering with friends and neighbors. Menus are designed just days in advance, showcasing produce harvested mere hours before the chefs create their masterpieces. To get a taste of our past culinary adventures, click here, click here.
