Bi-Weekly Update: Dec 14 - Dec 27

They are here! Trooper and Mayday, mini-donkeys. Thank you Christine of Oak Island Farms for raising these amazing little ones and letting us add them to our growing family. These two arrived Christmas Eve. And a few minutes later when Maggie and Odessa weren’t looking, out came Rita from the back of the trailer. Rita is a mini-cow born last April, who has been a big sister to Trooper and Mayday since they were born. It was an amazing surprise.

Trooper is the troublemaker, constantly trying to nudge his sister into playing. Rita is more shy than the mini-donkeys, but is the biggest lovebug.

Love is.

All the other animals seem excited too. Our turkeys have been walking around giving full displays of their feathers. The goats are just happy that it’s not raining. The ducks are over the moon that there are puddles to play in. Sophie and July have been enjoying their new toys in their winter pen.

Melvin and Morton have been displaying their feathers all week.

If you purchased a New Year’s Eve holiday sweet & savory box, make sure you have a few extra minutes to come and meet our new additions, this Thursday, when you pick it up. (Btw if you still would like to order some sweet and savory treats, today is the last day to order, click here for details.)

Husband - wife dynamic duo, Christian and Janelle, made a few of the New Year’s Eve treats last week, so we could take photos for the website. Thanks Wesley Lapointe for the amazing photos (Wesley is the background).

We didn’t get the perfect shot of the Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Mousse Bars under the Oak tree, but we did find some amazing fallen branches with these beautiful mushrooms, which then gave us the perfect backdrop for the savory Mushroom Duxelle…

It was super fun to get to play art director again (my previous career before Jim and I bought the farm).

And this week’s blog wouldn’t be complete without including our amazing farm to plate holiday dinner. Thank you Christian and Janelle!

Hopefully we can upload videos of the animals running around and playing (our reception is not cooperating this morning, check back in a few hours), until then, here are a few more still photos:
