House Bill 4153 Update
A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to share your voice and submit testimony. It truly makes a difference.We don’t yet know the fate of the farm bill, but it is actively being worked on in Salem. If it moves out of committee, it will head to the House and Senate floors for consideration.
The new -3 amendment is intended to ensure that no farms lose any of their existing rights if the bill passes. Instead, it creates an additional option, allowing qualifying farms to choose whether to apply for a new farm store permit if it works for their operation.
The goal is to reduce barriers so Oregon farms of all sizes can continue to survive and adapt. In the meantime, choosing to buy local remains one of the most powerful ways you can support farms like ours. Thank you again for being part of this.
