Topaz Farm is a working 130-acre farm and community gathering place on Sauvie Island, just outside Portland.

From June through October, we are open to the public Wednesday through Sunday. Come buy local produce in our farm market, or come to walk around the farm. We have animals, a bar and grill, lots of great grab and go food, as well as free Animal Talks, Tractor Talks and Story Time. All year long we host field trips and workshops.

Our farm looks very different each month. In early summer the berries are ripe for picking. Later in the summer we have lots of pickling cucumbers and tomatoes. Towards the end of summer our fields of sunflowers are in full bloom, followed by acres and acres of pumpkins in the fall, and hayride on the weekends along with all the Fall Harvest shenanigans. We are very proud to grow all our food using regenerative practices.

We have farm to plate dinners throughout the summer. If you haven’t been to one, we encourage you to treat yourself. It is one of the best culinary experiences in the Pacific Northwest, with the backdrop of Sauvie Island. The moon will come up and the owls come out, all while sitting under a 500 year old Oak tree. For us personally, it is one of the most satisfying moments, to see the literal fruits of our labor be enjoyed by so many.

In addition to the after hour classes and workshops, we host live music at our Summer Harvest Festival Nights. Most nights are 18+ and are the perfect way to relax and go home recharged after a little island magic.

Topaz Farm is owned and operated by married couple Kat Topaz and Jim Abeles. Three generations of their family work together on the land, making the farm both a personal legacy and a shared space for everyone.

Kat oversees the farming and brings a unique vision to the farm’s look — rooted in her background in design. She also serves as an elected representative for the West Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District and sits on the board of the Bird Alliance of Oregon.

Jim leads operations, strategy, and customer experiences, bringing a background in marketing and entrepreneurship. He’s actively involved in shaping the future of agritourism in Oregon as Board President of the Sauvie Island Community Association and Board Secretary of the NW Agritourism Association.

Topaz Farm is a family farm — for all families.
We’ve created a place where people can slow down, gather, celebrate, and reconnect — with nature, with food, and with each other.

🐾 Please note: for the safety of our animals and guests, pets are not allowed.
